German WW2 Helmets

Updated: Feb 20, 2021

German WW2 Helmets have a unique style and character that powerfully symbolises that era and the many savage battles fought on both the Eastern and Western Fronts.

Our ability to source great battlefield relics of WW2 and general WW2 Militaria means that we come across a lot of these iconic helmets.

There are the M35 Stalhlems, M40 Stalhelms and M42 Stalhelms that cross our path in various states of preservation.

Some helmets found themselves lost and scattered after battles to sit for decades in layers of soil. Some soils make them corrode to varying degrees whilst other soils and clays actually serve to protect metal, paint and even the leather liners. In such cases where we unearth a beautiful WW2 Stalhelm that still has paint, liner and decals it's like winning the lottery! Of course some artefacts were left in pockets of bunkers or in barns etc and can come in a wide range of conditions.

Condition thus ranges from rugged battlefield relics that have characteristic wear and corrosion and some even have amazing battlefield damage, remnant paint and decals to those in great condition as barn finds or veteran souvenirs.

Whether our helmets are in relic ground dug condition, or look like they have just come from the Q Store, they serve as amazing artefacts from WW2.
